A subsidiary of Extendicare Health Services, Inc., ProStep rehabilitation prides itself on revolutionizing post-acute therapy, by providing comprehensive rehabilitation services including physical, occupational and speech therapy. ProStep strives to motivate each resident, guiding them through the recovery process and facilitation their return to activities that are meaningful to them. Therapists not only provide technical skill and expertise, but offer inspiration and support through individualized and progressive care. ProStep currently employs over 2,800 therapists who care for patients in over 165 centers and several outpatient clinics in 13 states including:

Valuing the ProStep Team
ProStep invests in the skills of leaders to support the needs of customers and clinicians serving the post acute care population. We promote closely knit teams and individual facility focus through a low staff to manager ratio. In fact, ProStep leads the industry in individualized attention by allocating an average of one Regional Director to every seven centers. A designated Facility Rehab Coordinator is available full-time at each location to serve each customer's daily operational needs, including representing therapy at essential meetings to promote comprehensive care across disciplines.

Each center also has a Rehab Tech who works to make the therapists workday flow well. We embrace the employment of the Rehab Tech position for each center, knowing that they make the Therapists' days easier, through patient transport, patient set up, filing and many other crucial tasks.

Extendicare is a leader in post acute care and operator of 258 skilled centers in Canada and the United States. In the United States, Extendicare operates 180 skilled nursing, assisted living, and rehabilitation centers in 12 states and has the capacity to provide healthcare services and rehabilitation therapy to over 17,566 residents. With a major focus on post acute rehabilitation, ProStep offers comprehensive rehabilitation services throughout the Extendicare centers. In addition, 19 free standing outpatient rehabilitation clinics service over 6,500 clients.
