Dear Eldercrest Employees:

I am writing this letter to thank you and the entire staff at Eldercrest for providing me with the means to come back from a serious illness that lasted seven long months and nearly took my life.  Thanks to you I am living at home with my wife.

When I first came to Eldercrest I was bedridden.  I was unable to do something as simple as wiggle my body.   However, when I left three months later I was walking, albeit with assistance, but I was walking.  There was a point in time when I didn’t know if the day would come that I would be healthy enough or strong enough to go home.  As I sit next to my wife on our porch and watch our grandchildren run through the yard, I realize that it is because of the dedicated staff at Eldercrest that this possible.

First and foremost, I want to thank the physical therapy staff for never giving up on me.  You pushed me to try even harder on days when I thought I could not do it.  You knew the potential I had, even when I didn’t.  It is because of your caring and dedication that I am now walking and living at home.  Thank you for never giving up on me.

Next, I want to thank the nursing staff.  Your kindness and skills helped to keep me on the road to recovery.  You cared for my wounds and monitored everything on a daily basis.  When I called you, you were there right away and never hesitated to help me, no matter what I needed.  Thank you for your talent and kindness.  Those qualities are so critical in patient’s ability to cope with their illness.

Finally, I want to thank the dietary staff.  When I would come back from dialysis you would fix me something to eat, even though it was in between meal times.  One day in particular my stomach was so upset that the thought of any food made me even more nauseous.  Someone on your staff asked what would help and I told them the only thing that sounded good was homemade chicken soup.  They actually made it for me! To me, that speaks volumes about the people employed at Eldercrest.  Thank you for caring enough to do that for me.

While admittedly I will never fully recover from this illness, it wasn’t until I came to Eldercrest that I thought I would ever be able to go home.  Hopefully I will never need your services again, but if I do, I would not hesitate to come back to your facility.

Not only on behalf of myself, but also on behalf of my wife, my daughters and my grandchildren, I want to say thank you for all of your hard work and dedication and congratulations on the opening of the new physical therapy wing.  Being able to do what you did for me without the use of this new wing makes me believe that with this new wing, your possibilities are now endless.

Best of luck to all of you,

Sincerely,

A Rehab Graduate
